Comments The Gibson SG has been in production for 50 years now, though in 1961 it was first named as a Les Paul. It quickly became a standard workhorse for all kinds of music. I can’t think of how many bands I’ve seen where the guitar players used an SG. As the SG Special, some models had a larger ‘batwing’ pickguard that covers more of the top; the guitar underneath is the same.

This model reproduces an early 1960’s SG Special with the smaller pickguard, as used by Pete Townsend of the Who (or the OHM, depending on how you look at the case), for many tours, shows, and albums It’s a very comfortable, great playing and sounding guitar and has killer looks.
