The Falcon is at the top of of the Gretsch line, perhaps neck and neck with the Country Club. The Black Falcon is a somewhat rarer bird; most examples are white.

Playability/Action This is a wonderful guitar. The neck is wide enough for complex voicings but not uncomfortable, and it plays well and cleanly with the factory setup.

Comments This is my new favourite guitar. The Falcon is a classic, instantly recognisable instrument, and in black it’s perhaps a bit more eye-catching. It has all the great Gretsch tone and is a joy to play. The tone (or ‘mud’ switch) is a versatile and quite usable tool and the two switches add a visual balance to the individual volume controls. This guitar does come with the US-made Bigsby, so the Chet Atkins bracket and arm (not included) can be added in moments.
