Two French Romantic Era Guitars – 1820 and 1830 (consignment)

We have a number of historic, Romantic era instruments for sale. All are being sold as is.

Here are the first two, an Aubry Marie guitar built around 1820, and a Petre guitar built around 1830, both from France.

Aubry Marie

This is a very good French romantic guitar stamped Aubry Marie. The back is Brazilian rosewood veneered over spruce, the sides are Brazilian rosewood, the top spruce with fancy bindings and an engraved mother of pearl finger-rest.

The neck is laminated ebony, with ebony fingerboard, ebony nut, frets in good condition, and an ebony bridge with mother of pearl accents.

Priced on consignment for $3,295.00 CAD without case.

This good French romantic guitar from aorund 1830 is stamped Petre. It has a spruce top with ivory and ebony bindings and rosette, solid flamed maple back and sides – these have had some repairs.

The neck is ebony with an ebony fingerboard, non-original ebony tuning pegs, and ivory frets, and the bridge is ebony with ivory saddle.

Priced on consignment for $2,950 CAD without case.
