Today we are featuring a beautiful custom OMS guitar from the workshop of Dana Bourgeois. The OMS embodies the simple elegance of classic 12th fret 000 guitars with the impeccable craftsmanship and luscious tone we have come to know and love from all Bourgeois guitars! This small bodied guitar has a bright and well balanced tone and puts out much more volume than many other small guitars. The 25.5″ scale length and 1 3/4″ nut width are instantly familiar and comfortable which makes playing this guitar a real pleasure!
The lighter colored German spruce top provides a rich tone with lots of harmonic complexity and a real fullness at the lower end of the dynamic range. These characteristics are quite similar to Engelmann spruce however German spruce tends to have a quicker response and greater headroom. Finger style players and light strummers will really enjoy the sonic characteristics of this tone wood. The Indian rosewood sides and back are an excellent complement to the top wood providing a rich and full bass response with a scooped midrange and crisp top end sparkle!
Once again Bourgeois has produced a wonderful flat top with classic good looks and tone to die for!!
