Introduced in 1950 and produced until 1958, the Gibson CF-100E was one of the earliest production flat-top, cutaway acoustic guitars with a pickup. While Gibson reissued a limited number in the 1990′s, it hasn’t been readily available.
We’ve just received two as a special build, and they are available for $3350 CAD with case.
The CF-100E is based on a solid-top acoustic guitar (the CF-100), with a P-90 pickup added just under the end of the fingerboard.
Here are a few quick shots of the two guitars.
And for the sharp of eye, yes, in two of the photos it’s Jesse Cook’s autograph on that flamenco guitar top.
