Collings SJ Indian

Comments Bill Collings makes a lot of really wonderful, top-quality instruments. They look great, are very comfortable, have tone for days, and the build quality is exceptional. This Collings SJ Indian has the fullness and presence of a dreadnaught but without the boominess and more midrange; it’s rich and evenly balanced with crisp trebles and effective representation across the frequency spectrum.
Serial Number Varies as new; this is 20235.
Pricing $4140 USD. Includes case.
Neck Mahogany neck with grained-ivoroid bound, purfled ebony fingerboard and headplate. Mother of pearl Collings logo and modern diamond style position markers.
Frets Medium narrow fretwire; the fretwork is very clean, illustrating great attention to detail.
Body Sitka Spruce top, Indian rosewood back and sides. Grained-ivoroid binding on top and back, grained-ivoroid rosette, ebony bridge, faux-tortoise pickguard. Pre-WWII style scalloped bracing, multi-colour center back strip. 16″ wide body.
Finish Gloss natural nitrocellulose lacquer.

Playability/Action This guitar plays very well as stock, and I’m having a hard time putting it down long enough to finish writing this. Naturally, we’ll set it up to the needs of the player. There’s plenty of room on the saddle. This guitar has a fully-adjustable truss rod, accessed through the soundhole with a specially shaped key.
Case With original deluxe Collings hardshell case.
