Gibson Midtown Standard with Bigsby (Consignment) SOLD

Comments Here is something new – a Gibson Midtown Standard with Bigsby. Always on the search for new ideas, in 2011 Gibson introduced the Midtown as a blend of classic designs and new features and technologies. The Midtown is based on the visuals of the ES-3xx series guitars, and is thinline but isn’t arched, it’s a chambered, flat top guitar. The top is solid maple (rather than laminate as on the ES-3xx series) and the back is chambered mahogany. Other features include Grover tuners, ’57 Classic humbuckers (Alnico II magnets and #42 wire, as on PAFs), A Bigsby B7 and – quite unusually for Gibson – A TonePros locking roller-saddle adjustable bridge. Overall this is a very nice, reasonably priced Gibson.
Serial Number 105220466, built during 2012 in Nashville, Tennessee.
Pricing $999.00 CAD including original case. SOLD
Neck Mahogany neck with white- bound ebonized fingerboard. 24.75 inch scale, .8 inch nut width.
Frets Standard Gibson medium-jumbo frets in excellent condition.
Body Classic Gibson “ES 3xx” style body, but the flat top is maple and the back is chambered mahogany. White binding on the top.
Finish Cherry Gloss Transluscent nitrocellulose lacquer finish in excellent condition.
Hardware/electronics Chrome hardware – Grover tuners with keystone buttons, Gibson ’57 Classic humbuckers. Pickup selector switch, master volume and tone. Licensed Bigsby B7 True Vibrato unit with TonePros roller adjustable bridge. Note about Licensed Bigsbys: These are clearly identifiable with the term ‘Licensed’ next to the Gibsby logo, and are made under license outside the USA. They are functionally identical to US-made models, and the biggest differences I can find are that the components are metric rather than SAE sizes – so US-specific parts (such as the Chet Atkins bracket and arm) don’t fit without modification. As well, bolt patterns may be slightly different so custom mounts such as the Vibramate kits may not match.
Playability/Action Plays very well. ’60′s profile neck and clean fretwork, with enough space to move the action around.
Case Original hardshell case included
