Here we have another fine instrument from the Clarendon, Ontario shop of Oskar Graf.
This 1979 Oskar Graf classical has all the standard features – Indian rosewood and figured spruce top with 7-bar fan bracing, mahogany neck and ebony fingerboard. It’s been played over the last three decades and has opened up to produce a lovely, full, warm tone with lots of projection. | Neck | Mahogany neck with ebony-bound ebony fingerboard. The neck joint is made in the Spanish style, meaning that the heel is slotted to accept the sides. 650mm scale length, 52mm nut width |
| Frets | Original frets with no appreciable wear. |
| Body | Influenced by the Hauser style, the body is built with Indian rosewood back and sides, and a bearclaw spruce top. Seven-bar fan bracing is used on the top and solid linings throughout. Rosewood is also used for the binding and bridge. |
| Finish | Original gloss lacquer finish in good shape, though there are some dings on the top. |
| Hardware/electronics | Original hardware – hand-shaped bone nut and saddle, Schaller tuners with gold plates and pearloid buttons/ |
| Playability/Action | Plays well, with a well-developed tone. |
