Following the Deering Goodtime Crow packages, the new Deering Goodtime Rare Bird Alert Packages provide everything you need to get started with a quality US-made banjo at a reasonable price.
The Deering Goodtime Rare Bird Alert Banjo packages are built around the Deering Goodtime (open back) or Goodtime Two (resonator) banjo.
Most banjo players will tell you they saw a banjo player in a concert and were immediately hooked for life!! They promptly ran out and bought their first banjo.
The Deering Goodtime Rare Bird Alert packages provide everything a beginner needs. A great sounding US-made banjo at a reasonable price.
Steve Martin allows Deering to associate the Deering Goodtime banjos with the Steve Martin “The Crow” and “Rare Bird” touring band.
The “Rare Bird Alert Package” is a complete kit for any beginner, available as Goodtime (open back) or Goodtime Two (resonator) banjo.
Total price for the entire Goodtime open-back banjo package: $589.00
Total price for the entire Goodtime Two resonator banjo package: $789.00
The Deering Goodtime Rare Bird Alert Package includes:
Deering Goodtime Rare Bird Alert Banjo in open back or resonator model.
Deering Gig Bag
Rare Bird Alert CD and Tablature book
Dunlop thumbpick (plastic) and two metal fingerpicks
Full setup is included. Nut height, head tension set at G#, capo tacks installed at 7, 9 and 10th fret, action adjusted and the banjo receives a complete checkover. You get this banjo in fully playable condition – not just out of the box but as with all of our banjos, it is thoroughly set up to professional standards.
Note: we also carry the regular Goodtime open back at the standard price of $469 and the Goodtime II resonator banjo at $699. When I ‘do the math’ on the added extras included with the Rare Bird Package at $589 and $789 respectively , the Rare Bird Alert Package is a sensible purchase and good value.
