1978 Fender Jazz Bass (consignment) SOLD

Comments Here is a very well preserved 1978 Fender Jazz Bass in a custom colour. Officially, this colour was designated ‘Walnut’, but many people call it ‘Mocha’ – which was never an official colour.Fender introduced the Jazz Bass in 1960, hoping to widen the appeal of the wildly successful and influental Precision Bass into the Jazz world. To that end, a narrow neck and much brighter, more focused pickups were added. The Jazz bass has been in continuous production since its introduction.
Serial Number S8850089, built during 1978 at the Fender plant in Fullerton, California.
Pricing $2,600.00 with original case.  SOLD!
Neck Maple neck with skunk strip and bound rosewood fingerboard, block position markers. 3-bolt Microtilt neck attachment and adjustment; the microtilt also moved the truss rod adjuster to the head end of the neck. This also resolved an issue with older block-marker Jazz Basses, where the truss rod anchor could push up on and pop out the first position marker.
Frets Original frets in good condition, with some wear.
Body Offset Jazz design Ash body.
Finish Gloss finish in quite good condition. Some staff call the tint colour ‘Mocha’, but the official Fender designation for this custom colour was apparently ‘Walnut’. The neck has a natural (clear) finish.
Hardware/electronics All original, with original covers.
Playability/Action Plays very well and currently strung with round wound strings.
Case Original hardshell case included.
