1964 Fender Precision Bass Sunburst (consignment) NO LONGER AVAILABLE

By 1964, the Fender Precision Bass was the most used electric bass in the world, appearing on all kinds of stages and recordings and spawning endless numbers of copies.

This example of the 1964 Fender Precision Bass production is in good playing condition, and it looks like it’s been played as much as it has. There is pretty heavy buckle wear on the back, lots of play wear on the front, and the letters ‘MLG’ are scratched into the finish on the upper horn.

The neck date stamp reads 5DEC64C, and the pot codes date to 1964. The thumb rest is missing, but the rest of the hardware is original. The bass is currently strung with flatwound strings. It would appear, given the level of finish wear and relative lack of fingerboard and fret wear, that the neck was professionally planed and refretted some time ago. As a result, this bass plays quite well and is ready to go!

Serial Number: L51683, built during late 1964 at the Fender plant in Fullerton, California, USA.

Pricing: $6,500.00 with gig bag. NO LONGER AVAILABLE
