Godin Core Series Electric Guitars

Godin Core Series Electric Guitars - The Twelfth Fret

The Godin Core series is comprised of three models geared to the rock player looking for pro features, excellent quality and an affordable price point. All of the Godin Core series guitars are built in Richmond, Québec. My first thought when picking up any of these series guitars was how much value you get. They feel great to play, and the fine details like the fret work is top-notch.

The design of all three Godin Core electric guitar models is based on the classic single cutaway solid body. They have chambered mahogany bodies with a maple cap which provides some weight relief and a comfortable playing experience. The set mahogany neck feels very solid and features 22 frets on 24 ¾ inch scale length rosewood fretboard. All these features are very familiar to many players, but they are executed with a quality usually reserved for guitars which are usually double or even triple the price.

Godin Core EMG GT Electric Guitar

⚫️ Godin Core EMG GT

Last but not least if hard rock and heavy metal is more your style the Godin Core EMG GT features the hot and aggressive sounding EMG 85 neck pickup and EMG 81 bridge pickups. These pickups have become a staple in this style due to their ability to really drive the signal and provide a biting crunch.

All of the models feature a Graphtech Resomax  wraparound bridge made of a proprietary light weight alloy with a sleek low profile. The edges are all very smooth so you won’t scrape your hand while using techniques such as, palm muting. Another really cool feature of this bridge is the auto lock which magnetically secures the bridge to the posts without a tool and makes re-stringing a breeze.

The machine heads are custom made for Godin and have an 18:1 gear ratio on the bass side and 36:1 on the treble side. This provides smooth and accurate tuning. Each guitar has a three-way toggle switch with two volume controls and two tone controls for a variety of tonal options. The pots for the controls are a Japanese made sealed pot guaranteed for millions of turns.

Top this line of Godin Core series electric guitars off with eye catching gloss top and satin finished bodies and you get a series of guitars with killer looks and tone. Godin Core electric guitars don’t get as much attention as many of the other brands with more pedigree but these are wonderful guitars from top to bottom – cool to the “Core”  – so to speak!
