Stinger Straps for Guitars Handcrafted by Canadian Designers

Stringer Straps - The Twelfth Fret

A guitar strap is a useful accessory especially if you’re standing to play or during practise.   Guitar straps are selected for practicality, as well as personal style.  When we checked out handcrafted Stinger Straps we just had to share the discovery with you. Stinger Straps are beautifully designed, comfortable and provide excellent weight distribution – and each one is designed right here in Canada. Stinger straps combine quality and style.

Stinger Straps is a collaboration of leather accessory designers Victor Nolivos and Sandra Singh, and musician/producer JJ Coolidge and created in Montreal Quebec.  We were told their goal was to create a high-end guitar strap that looked and felt great, and featured top quality materials and craftsmanship.  They succeeded!

Stinger Straps Feature Premium leather guitar straps, handmade in Montreal.

Here’s what I found to be the key features setting Stinger apart from others:

  • Curved Form. Every Stinger guitar strap is cut in a curved form, making it much more comfortable than traditional, straight-cut straps. Your guitar will have never felt lighter. This will allow you to play longer.

  • High-Quality Italian leather. Unlike other guitar straps that use vinyl or cheap leather, Stinger doesn’t scrimp on materials. Each strap is made from the highest quality top-grain Italian leather.

  • Each strap is hand-cut, assembled and hand-stitched in the Montreal studio.

  • Three-ply construction. Nearly all the Stinger straps are constructed with three layers of high quality leather. A stiff, strong leather sandwiched between two softer layers ensures that the straps are strong and won’t stretch, while remaining soft and supple for your comfort.

  • Easy Attachment. Attaching a Stinger guitar strap to an electric guitar, bass guitar or acoustic guitar is easy. You can put the pinhole from the top end of the strap over the pin at the top of the guitar, and put the pinhole of the adjustable end of the strap over the pin at the bottom of the guitar. Stinger guitar straps can be used with various strap-lock systems.

Stringer Straps – Playin’ Jane

I’d have to say the only con I could find with these guitar straps would be the price point.

They range from CAD175. (Playin’ Jane version) to the more style embellished design of “Luv Child” for CAD337.

**Note Stinger Straps are available for left hand players too.

Summary

You can’t go wrong with such a fine crafted product. I’ll be enjoying the “Cosmonaut”, pictured here below on Dave Martin – on many of my performances (thanks Stinger!)

Of course they are expensive, yet you’ll see the value when you place a Stinger strap in your hand and feel the sweet  – “honey” in its quality.

We have a small collection of Stinger Straps in stock here at The Twelfth Fret so stop on by and check them out for yourselves. You can also visit their website to view the entire selection.
