Thomas Ribbecke has been building and repairing guitars and basses in the San Fransico Bay area since 1974 and has earned a reputation for quality and innovation.
In 2003, Ribbecke developed the Halfling guitar concept with bassist Bobby Vega, to merge the steel-string flat top and the archtop with the goal of providing better bass response, feedback rejection and versatility.
He served for a decade with the Association of Stringed Instrument Artisans (ASIA) and his instruments have been featured in the Scott Chinery Blue Guitar Collection for the Smithsonian and in the Boston Museum, as well as in the Red Collection for the 2009 Montreal Guitar Show.
