Boss GT-10 Guitar Effects Processor

Many moons ago BOSS created an amazing little multi effect pedal called the ME5 and it revolutionized the niche of affordable yet high quality floor multi effects. With every succession of updates and innovations, they keep raising the bar while everyone else watches and tries to catch up as an afterthought. Enter the GT10, following in the footsteps of its predecessor, the GT8, the GT10 races ahead with a sleek and slick new look for the future.

As per all the past BOSS products, it includes all of the uber cool pedals in the BOSS arsenal. From the evil Metal Zone to the mercurial Slow Gear, hell, they even throw in a monophonic guitar synth. Amp models have been further beefed up to sound even more realistic thanks to a spanky new version of their COSM processing engine. There is a looper thrown in for some Robert Fripp-like fun. The ultimate breakthrough comes in the form of the USB connectivity, the graphic display and graphic patch creation abilities. Imagine simply choosing graphics and descriptions can create a patch; let’s not even get into the on screen tweaking capabilities.

So how does it sound? Simply deadly! The processing in this thing is amazing…let’s not even get into the fact that it can even change amp channels on an amp via an external switching control! There are so many ways to hook this thing up that it’s not funny.

The other big breakthrough is in the switching itself. Delays carry over and there is no annoying dropout when you switch patches unlike some of the multi effects out there…we won’t mention any names. In this day and age, it baffles me that some manufacturers still put out multi effects that simply drop out with a patch change. With the processing power and microprocessors that are available today, this serious flaw should never be considered as an afterthought.
