In the past, they have been a catalyst for a “boutique amp revolution”. Their DC-30 and Chieftain amps have become known as industry standard equipment and have even been immortalized by the amp modeling generation, from Line 6 all the way to Rocktron.

I have fond memories of first watching Jimmy Page use the DC30 model and then seeing the Tea Party’s Jeff Martin pummel through a stack of the same model during the Trip Tych tour.

Monday, December 20th, 2010I’ve always been a sucker for a nice, lush, clean Class A tone. If you know the lineage of this company, there is nothing else like a Matchless amp. This little number packs a very loud 15 watts Class A into a single 12” combo…in plain terms it’s enough to go against a drummer in a Roots Rock, Country, Blues type of setting.
