Henriksen JazzAmp 310 Guitar Amplifier

The Henriksen JazzAmp 310 is one of two available 120 watt JazzAmp models – the 310 seen here with a 10 inch speaker, and the 312 with a 12.

As the JazzAmp name suggests, these excellent amplifiers are intended for working jazz guitarists and are the result of the work of the late Bud Henricksen and his son Peter. The JazzAmp line has been delivering quality tone in a reliable, portable package since 2005.

Weighing in at a portable 29 pounds, The JazzAmp 310 features a 10 inch Eminence Beta speaker and an Eminence tweeter that can be disabled via a back-panel switch, in a 14 x 14 x 9 inch enclosure – not quite a cube. This enclosure is designed to handle a very wide range of frequencies, as far down as an upright bass yet with the complexity of a guitar’s high end.

The input section starts with a combination XLR-1/4 inch connector providing 48v Phantom power for condenser microphones, and is followed by an input gain control and 5-band EQ section. A Reverb control rounds out the top panel options. On the back panel, there’s a TRS effects loop at Instrument or Line level – you can use a standard Insert cable for this, build your own, or Henricksen sells a 10-foot Y cable. Outputs are to the built in speaker and there’s an XLR line out to connect to a house PA or recording console, and an output for an extension speaker (8 ohms or above). A gig bag style case is available.

These are excellent amps for the working musician, and it’s very worth while to check them out.
