The Waterloo WLK TR reproduces a rare, lightweight and responsive depression-era guitar built by Gibson under the Kel Kroydon name from 1930 to 1933. These models are built by Collings at their shop in Austin, Texas. An exceptional instrument, the Waterloo WLK TR features a Spruce top and bracing with Mahogany for the back, sides, body blocks and neck, with an Indian Rosewood 12-fret fingerboard and Ebony bridge.

Using an X-braced Sitka Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for the sides, back and fingerboard, the Waterloo Jumbo King WL-JK IR has a 15.75 inch body width and 5 inch depth. The neck is Mahogany, the Rosewood fingerboard unbound, and the bridge is Ebony with a drop-in bone saddle.

This Waterloo WL 12 built around 2017 at the Collings / Waterloo shop in Austin, Texas, is paired with a solid, X-braced Spruce top – finished black – with a lovely Flame Maple set, stained medium Walnut, for the back and sides. The neck, body blocks, back braces and lining are Mahogany. The fingerboard is Indian Rosewood, and Ebony is used for the bridge and nut; the saddle is bone. A vintage ‘Firestripe’ style pickguard is installed and open-gear strip Golden Age Restoration tuners complete the look.

The top is Spruce, paired with Mahogany for the back, sides and neck; the fingerboard is Indian Rosewood, with an Ebony bridge. It’s in very nice, original condition with minimal wear. The original TKL hard shell case is included.
