Alhambra 7P CW E5 Cutaway Classical

The Alhambra 7P CW Cutaway Classical is Alhambra’s 7P advanced Student Model fitted with with a cutaway and Fishman Prefix Premium Blender system.      This model’s full name is officially 7 P CW E (x),  where the (x) is a number representing exactly which Fishman pickup system is installed. Currently, the numbers for pickup systems have been 2, 3 and 5.   This is a level  7 guitar, with Rosewood back and sides –  represented by the P for the Spanish word for Rosewood, Palisandro.   The 7 P A CW is the Spruce top version with the A representing the Spanish word Abeto for Spruce or Fir.

Handcrafted using solid woods, the Alhambra 7P  CW Cutaway Classical features a German Spruce top. Red Western Cedar is also available in the 7P CW model, paired with Indian Rosewood back and sides.

The choice of Red Western Cedar or German Spruce for the top is up to the player. Both provide an excellent sound and will open and develop with use – the more you play the guitar, the better it sounds. Red Cedar develops more rapidly into a warm, rich tone, while Spruce provides added brilliance and top end, with a faster response. The back and sides are solid Indian Rosewood, with Rosewood also used for the bridge, head plate and binding.

Alhambra makes the a traditional choice of a Spanish cedar neck with Ebony fingerboard and 19 nickel-silver frets. Intended for advancing players, these instruments use a full 650mm scale length and 50mm nut width.

In terms of electronics and hardware, a Fishman Premium Blender microphone and pickup system is installed, with controls mounted on the upper bass side. The nut and saddle are bone, and high quality gold plated premium tuners with ebony buttons are fitted to the headstock.

As with all Alhambra instruments, the Alhambra 7P CW E5 Cutaway Classical plays very well as delivered and we will of course set up to the player’s requirements.
