The Twelfth Fret ~ Since 1977 ~

❌ SOLD ❌ Antonio Picado Model 62 Classical Concert Guitar, Brazilian

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , ,

Antonio Picado runs a guitar building shop with 4 or 5 builders producing around 20 guitars per month, about an hour north of Barcelona in the mountain village of Berga. He offers classical and flamenco guitars, a cutaway model and reduced size instruments for children. Each instrument receives the full attention of an individual luthier and quality is high.

It’s difficult to date Picado guitars as they have neither serial numbers or production dates, a common practice with Spanish handmade guitars. We’re dating this one to perhaps 10 years old, based on the condition of the finish and the degree to which it has sunk into the pores.

This Antonio Picado Model 62 is in good condition, with Brazilian Rosewood for the back and sides, a refinished Spruce top and top quality Gotoh tuners. There is some light scuffing on the back, perhaps from buttons. It’s had a refret with Jim Dunlop 6105 fretwire – which is fairly high, and provides additional tonal clarity and separation – at The Twelfth Fret’s repair shop. Recently, the frets were dressed and the guitar set up at our shop, and it plays very well. A hard shell case is included.
