The Twelfth Fret ~ Since 1977 ~

❌SOLD❌ Burns Bison Bass Red, 2012

Instrument Categories: , ,

The Burns Bison Bass was a favourite among session musicians in the Sixties due to its long scale and a very wide range of tones, including the famous Wild Dog setting. Originally built from 1964 to 1965, the Bison Bass has an unmistakable look with its large horned body. Originally issued using the typical Burns scroll headstock, it now uses a more standard 4-a side Fender-esque headstock.

The Burns company was restarted by Barry Gibson in the late 1990s and has been producing reissues of the earlier Burns designs. This Burns Bison Bass dates to 2012 and was built in Korea at a high-quality plant. The finish is a deep red polyester in quite good condition, and overall this is well built and in very good condition. It’s a full 34 inch scale with 1 9/16th nut width, so it’s very comfortable to play and has the deep fundamental that comes from long scale basses. With three pickups and the four-position tone switch, this is a very versatile and visually arresting bass!

A Fender branded Gig Bag is included.
