The Danelectro Electric Sitar and Danelectro Baby Sitar were in some ways the most successful of their design – they was the sound of the sitar on many hit records during the 1960’s to the 80’s. They were also two of the very few of that design.

Built around the base Danelectro idea of a lightweight, semi-hollow body guitar, with lipstick-tube pickups, the addition of a buzzing bridge – and on the full model, a set of sympathetic strings tuned using autoharp pegs – the Danelectro Sitar was very easy to use.

To make it easier to use and even less expensive, the Baby Sitar was introduced. This is a single-pickup teardrop body instrument with no sympathetic strings.

Now Danelectro is back and has reintroduced the Baby Sitar, and it has many real improvements. The Gotoh sitar bridge is very high quality, and the sealed Kluson-type tuners are smooth and accurate.

Case is extra.
