❌SOLD❌ Gibson EB-0 Bass Refinished Natural, 1965

It’s sometimes hard to remember that for a time, the Fender bass design wasn’t completely dominant and the Gibson EB-0 was on many hit records. During much of the 1960’s, Gibson’s EB models were used by players like Jack Bruce and Felix Pappilardi and delivered a huge, deep sound. But, by the beginning of the 1970’s, the tighter, punchier sound of the Precision and Jazz basses took over and the EB series fell out of production.

Here we have a Gibson EB-0 bass from 1965, refinished to natural and with the original fibre (cardboard) case. Based on the SG design, the body and neck are Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard. The scale length is a very comfortable 30 inches, like the Hofner basses, and the nut width 1 11/16 inches. Fret wear is moderate.

This bass plays well and is quite comfortable to play with its shorter scale and relatively light weight. It definitely has that bottom-heavy vintage Gibson tone!
