❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES-335TD Thinline Archtop with Coil Tap Natural, 1979

The Gibson ES-335TD – Two pickup, Double cutaway – was a hit from its appearance in the late 1950. In one stroke it combined the best of solidbody and archtop guitars in a classy package.

There have been a number of minor variations on the model since then. Here, we are looking at a Gibson ES335TD in gloss natural finish and all original condition except for one strap pin. It was built at the Gibson Kalamazoo plant and the serial dates it to July 6th, 1979.

An interesting factory addition to this model is the coil tap switch on the treble cutaway horn. This cuts off one coil of each pickup, essentially shifting into single coil mode. At this point, Gibson was still using a trapeze tailpiece on the ES-335, though the originals and subsequent models used a stop tailpiece.

This guitar is in good all round condition and has very recently been serviced with a fret dress and setup at The Twelfth Fret Repair Shop. A brown Gibson hard shell case is included.
