❌SOLD❌ Guild D-40BG Bluegrass Jubilee Dreadnought Sunburst, 2009

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , ,

For a long time, bluegrass players relied on guitars like this Guild D-40BG Bluegrass Jubilee. Well built to withstand heavy playing, these Guilds deliver a large amount of clear, crisp tone.

This example was built at Guild’s New Hartford, Connecticut shop as the third guitar on Tuesday, June 16 2009. The top is Adirondack Spruce and the back and sides are mahogany, as is traditional for Bluegrass style instruments. It sports a sunburst finish, a DTAR active pickup system and Gotoh open back Sta-Tite style tuners. It’s in very good condition. Where the player’s arm rests on the lower bass bout, the finish has been affected by something slightly acidic, but this can be cleaned with Virtuoso cleaner or buffed out. Otherwise wear is light.

This guitar plays well, and sounds great. It’s ideal for use in a bluegrass context, where it has to keep up with other instruments like banjos or mandolins. While it does project its volume, it also has the clean, crisp separation characteristic of the spruce – mahogany combination.

The original hard shell case is included.
