1980 Gibson RB-250 5-String Banjo (SOLD)

Since the Memphis floods in 2010 devastated the area, banjos like the Gibson RB-250 have only been available as used or vintage instruments. The flood seriously damaged the Gibson facility, especially the banjo department. To date, Gibson has not chosen to resume production and may never do so.

 

Built during 1980, this Gibson RB-250 Mastertone 5-string banjo is in good playing condition. It features a 'tube and plate' two piece flange, and has a Gibson gold oval label in the resonator. The mahogany resonator has a few small dings, the metal parts are slightly oxidized, and there are two Keith tuners. Fretwear is minor. The original black Gibson hardshell case is included.
