The top is solid Sitka Spruce, the back, sides and neck are mahogany (the profile copies Tamio's guitar) with a rosewood fingerboard. The finish is a faded cherry, unbuffed, ultra-thin nitrocellulose lacquer. The scale length is 24.75 inches, and the nut width is 1.75 inches. They are very light and responsive!
A P-90 pickup is mounted underneath the end of the fingerboard, with volume and tone controls installed to the lower bout and an output jack on the side. This layout was later transferred to the CF-100E's successor guitar - the Gibson J-100E used on so many Beatles recordings.
