| You want me to try and convey how great this guitar
is through words and photos? Sorry, but it's going to take
a lot more talent that I have to express the impact this OMC has on me.
The audio sample by Dave Martin probably comes the closest to demonstrating
how incredibly articulate this particular Orchestra Model is.
Some OM models record well because of their great
bass-mid-treble balance ... with no big boomy bass to have to contend with.
Occasionally a small bodied guitar like this comes along that maintains
this balance but has what can only be described as a larger overall presence.
It still records easily, but somehow manages more gratification in
an acoustic performance situation!
Dana Bourgeois has also managed to create the
perfect looking Venetian cutaway for the OM body style ... not an easy
thing to do. The Orchestra Model is such a classic and timeless body
shape, it is very difficult to add a cutaway without it throwing
off the visual equilibrium. Dana has not only given us access to
three more frets, but has maintained the ageless aesthetic of this
important historical model. Add one of the most stunning looking
sunburst finishes I've ever seen and you have my idea of the perfect fingerstyle
guitar! |
