Tony Duggan-Smith Guitar
This is one of those guitars that I can really get lost in!  What is it about some instruments that really speaks to you?  The short answer is "everything".   In my books,  it has to have it all ... a look that you don't get tired of ... a box and neck that becomes and extension of your own body ... and a sound that you can explore for years and years!

Tony Duggan-Smith has had plenty of time to refine and hone his skills as a luthier,  so it is no surprise to anyone that he is making instruments at this high level.  He started his career as a luthier in the '70s,  and has been balancing his calling as a songwriter and recording artist with his passion for guitar building ever since!

This particular piece is a fully hollow,  true carved and graduated jazz guitar that features all European tonewoods,  a custom U.S. made Kent Armstrong pickup,  handmade wood tailpiece/bridge/finger rest and of course the main ingredient ... the decades of experience that a veteran luthier brings to the table!!!

Tony Duggan-Smith Custom Archtop Guitar

If I had ever taken the time to sit down and actually jot down the features of my ideal gigging guitar,  it would look very much like the "Specifications" list below!   Tony Duggan-Smith definitely had the working musician in mind when designing this absolutely stunning thinline electric!

For starters,  Tony's tapered body utilizes "the Wedge" design,  a unique concept that has the bass side of the instrument with a narrower dimension than the treble side ... making this guitar soooooooooooooooooo COMFORTABLE to play!  Of course,  as an accomplished player himself,  Mr. Duggan-Smith pays meticulous attention to absolutely every aspect of setup and playability ... this thing is just a DREAM to play!  Then there is the combination of the European laminate top & back in conjunction with Tony's full length internal sustain block that unites to make a box that is both extremely responsive and feedback-proof!

Want a list of the specifications of my ideal gigging guitar?  See below!  It's all there!!!
