 Eastman MDA615 Mandola

During the heyday of the mandolin orchestra,  the mandola was a mandatory part of any mandolin ensemble.  In recent times the mandola has added it's considerable sonic presence to many contemporary recordings such as David Grisman's "Tone Poems" projects.

Until very recently,  if you wanted to get your hands on a mandola,  you were in the market for a quite expensive vintage piece that often needed restoration work before it could be used.  Now,  Eastman Strings has introduced the relatively affordable MDA615 featuring all solid wood construction,  true carved & graduated (not pressed) top & back plates,  16" scale length,  radiused ebony fingerboard with scooped extension and a thin gloss lacquer finish with Sunburst or Classic Violin stains!
