| Steve Lukather started
playing in bands when only 15 years old. While still in high school
he met Jeff Porcaro and David Paich who were already doing session work.
"At that point I was really intrigued by the whole session thing. It wasn't
something I wanted to do since I was a little kid. I didn't know anything
about it until I was in high school. I thought it was kind of cool to be
able to play on all these great artists' records!"
In 1976, after playing and touring with
Boz Scaggs and David Paich, Jeff Porcaro asked Steve Lukather, Bobby
Kimball, David Hungate and Steve Porcaro to form their own band ... Toto.
In the meantime David Paich, Jeff Porcaro and people like Jay Graydon involved
Lukather more and more in the session business. By the late seventies and
eighties Lukather proved himself a first-call session musician, recording
with everyone from Boz Scaggs to Aretha Franklin to Quincy Jones!
Ernie Ball / Music Man teamed up with Steve in
the early '90s to create a versatile solidbody with studio quality signal-to-noise
ratio, great tuning stability, superb physical balance and
absolutely to-die-for playability!!! This particular "Luke" features
a very handsome three colour sunburst finish and of course ... THE best
feeling guitar neck in the biz!!! |
