| When Gibson introduced its new thinline ES-335
in 1958, it effectively bridged the gap between earlier fully hollow
electric archtops and the solidbody guitar. It had the f-holes and
arched top & back plates that veteran players were used to, but
greatly improved feedback rejection with a full length internal sustain
block as well as unmatched access to the upper frets.
This model has gone through many subtle changes
through the decades ... with every player having his favorite version.
This Block Inlay model features the slim-taper neck dimensions of a 1963
ES-335, as well as the longer pickguard and block-style fretboard
inlay. The centerblock is also period correct lightweight maple,
making this guitar easy on the eyes, ears and the back! |
