Hofner Contemporary HCT 500/1 Beatle Bass

The original 500/1 model bass was designed and produced by Walter Hofner in 1955. By 1961 the original Beatles bass player Stuart Sutcliffe, on leaving the band, loaned his 500/1 bass to Paul McCartney who adapted it for left handed playing. The rest as they say, is history.

Until recently, procuring a new or original issue 500/1 Beatle Bass was relatively costly. With the introduction of these Contemporary Series HCT 500/1 models, featuring staple-top pickups, tea cup knobs, nickel plated hardware and modern internal sustain block ... the Beatle Bass is now accessible to everyone!

* Vintage vibe Hofner control panel with 2 volume controls,
2 circuit breakers, Rhythm/Solo switches for volume Boost.
