Larrivee Custom LV-10 Bearclaw / Madagascar

The Larrivee 10-series has been the benchmark for tasteful opulence in steel string guitars for a couple of decades now and Jean has just upped the ante by offering the occasional LV-10 with upgraded Bearclaw spruce top and luscious Madagascar rosewood back & sides! It is extremely rare to find perfectly quartersawn Madagascar in dimensions large enough to make a 16" body and Bearclaw spruce like this does not grow on trees (hmmm ... let me reword that).

How do these premium tonewoods affect the sound? Well, the immediacy of response from the Bearclaw and the superb reflective properties of Madagascar have definitely combined to make an instrument with not only the signature Larrivee sizzle and high end complexity, but also some extra kick in the low end attack and superb "throw" to the overall sound. What a powerful sounding guitar!
