| Yesterday was the day that left handed guitar
players got their revenge. I finally have a sense of how they feel
when they walk into a store and see that guitar they have been dreaming
of ... but it is strung the "wrong" way. Yesterday The Twelfth Fret
received the most prestigious new acoustic flattop guitar that we have
ordered in thirty years and you guessed it ... it was for one of our left
handed customers. I couldn't even play it!
You can imagine the hush that comes over
a store when an instrument with a list price in the six figures is delivered.
Just the feel of the real leather exterior on the case was enough to get
me excited! When I opened the case I didn't know where to look first
... there is just so much fine detail work that vies for your attention!
The magnificently executed inlay work, the superlative tone woods,
even the bridge pins demand close scrutiny. This Martin D-100 Deluxe
is absolutely fascinating to examine in detail and is a fit tribute to
celebrate the one millionth instrument made by this venerable guitar making
institution! |
