| Carpathian spruce is harvested from trees in
the Caucasus and Carpathian mountains that surround the Black Sea.
Visually, this tonewood has wider grain than many other European
spruces, with a creamy white overall colour and moderately prominent
spring growth lines. Carpathian spruce tops have an excellent strength-to-weight
ratio with a glassy tap tone that ultimately translates into many of the
sonic properties that Adirondack spruce brings to the table ... excellent
definition & clarity, good complexity in the overtone layers
but most of all, a very warm core to the note fundamental!
These properties in conjunction with the superb reflective
attributes of this spectacular set of Ziricote back & sides,
combine with McPherson's proprietary offset soundhole technology to produce
this magnificently responsive new MG-3.5XP model!!! |
