| Alastair Miller has really made a name for himself
around town in the Bluegrass scene since Marc Roy has started playing one
of his dreadnoughts ... but this is the first time we have had the pleasure
of stocking one of these amazingly powerful instruments. What an
absolute howitzer of a guitar!
Alastair didn't pull any punches on this one,
with its bookmatched Brazilian rosewood peghead overlay on a traditional
squared peghead, soft-V neck profile with dart volute, precision
Waverly tuners with the new vintage-style buttons, Adirondack spruce
top with scalloped bracing & enlarged soundhole, dramatically
grained Brazilian rosewood back & sides, ebony bridge with bone
saddle & "Dalmatian" style tortoiseshell pickguard!
Marc Roy was kind enough to come in and run it through
some tunes while I recorded it with my trusty Edirol R09 ... there is nothing
quite like a smoking-good player with an exceptionally great sounding instrument
in his hands is there? |
