Ewan Miller Orchestra Model

Mark Kett,  Alastair Miller ... and now Ewan Miller,  all build high end guitars out of their Toronto workshop.  This is the first exposure I've had to Ewan's work and I must say that I'm impressed to say the least!

"Open" is the word that comes to mind.  This is one of those rare guitars that sounds mature in every way ... and it is only a couple of weeks old!  Mature,  in that it has the immediacy of response and golden midrange quality that I associate with an instrument that has been played hard for a number of years.  As odd as this sounds (hey ... you should be used to "odd" from me by now!) the first time I played this guitar I could almost visualize the tree sap crystallized on the cell walls in this 30 year old Sitka top!  It has that tinder-dry snap to the attack transient and doesn't "bloom" into the note ... it positively "launches" the fundamental before initiating the overtone series!  I'll rate this conservately at 9/10 on the tone scale!!!
