National Triolian Resophonic Guitar

The folks at National Reso-phonic Guitars are constantly experimenting with new models,  as well as tweaking their existing models to squeeze out even more tone and response ... one of the advantages of being a small production company!  Their latest endeavor is the release of their new reproduction of the Triolian.

Legend has it that the original Triolian prototypes had a single cone coverplate that actually sheltered a tricone assembly underneath ... hence the "Tri" in Triolian.  The production models however,  were all outfitted with the traditional National single cone and biscuit assembly.  National created this model originally in the late '20s and '30s, as a less expensive alternative to their existing models,  and it was immediately embraced by Delta Blues players in the southern U.S. ... notably by players such as Blind Boy Fuller.

The current National Triolian features a hand painted Walnut sunburst finish,  straight cut f-holes,  an arched back,  slotted peghead,  12 or 14 fret neck-to-body joint versions,  and slightly thinner gauge steel for enhanced response!
