Paul Reed Smith has come along way since the days of building guitars one at a time and trying to sell them backstage at concerts. Now with many different guitars in the line and signature models that include Carlos Santana and Al Di Meola their impeccable attention to detail and quality control remains as strong as ever.
The Custom 22 has been one of the most popular PRS guitars along with its 24 fret cousin and the new Custom 22 Sunburst should only continue the love affair. Deciding not to mess too much with a good thing the changes to this model include a unique double sunburst nitro cellulose finish and 57/08 humbucker pickups. In 2008 Paul Reed Smith acquired the rights to the original pickup wire used in many of the revered 50's era humbuckers and created their new 57/08 pickups. These subtle changes turn a great guitar into a must have guitar!
