John Tilden

 
     John Tilden has been a professional guitarist for 39 years and has taught for 27 years.  He has played and recorded with numerous Canadian bands over the years ... Long John Baldry,  Whiskey Howl,  Mondo Combo,  Jani Lauzon,  and countless others.  He has been a member of the Horseshoe All-stars and the Brunswick House All-stars.  He has also played with Etta James,  John Lee Hooker,  Otis Rush,  Lowell Fulson and Big Mama Thornton and many more.

     John has hosted guitar workshops for the Toronto Blues Society starting with the first in 1987.

     John's teaching specialties are blues, slide guitar styles,  rock,  finger style and country.  He also works on  improvisation both fretted and with slide techniques for more advanced students.  He allows each student to have input into designing their own lesson program,  motivating them to reach their goals quickly.
