This new device is housed in a bullet-proof metal utility box with external battery access that can also be powered by an AC adapter or from any 48V phantom power from the board!  

       The input gain control is almost mandatory these days because of the huge disparity in output from acoustic guitar pickups.   Boost the input gain for low level signals (i.e.. the Fishman Rare Earth soundhole pickups) or turn it down for higher output devices (i.e.. Matrix or active Baggs systems).   

      The parallel input jack is handy for plugging a tuner into (your signal is not degraded by putting the tuner in-line) and the EFX loop is handy for getting good signal-to-noise ratio from your favorite chorus or reverb.  

       The output section of this unit features both a balanced XLR (to the board) and an unbalanced 1/4" out (to your on stage powered monitor/acoustic amp) both with their own level controls to perfectly match levels!

      Apart from the standard bass & treble EQ controls,  The Ultra PDI has a sweepable notch filter for controlling that nasty feedback and a shape toggle to scoop out honky sounding mids! 

      Anyone who has gigged with an acoustic guitar knows that we need all of the help we can get when it comes to achieving a natural sound that cuts through in the mix.  The Ultra PDI is a must-have tool in the pursuit of this goal!
