| We get a lot of musicians who have played steel
string guitars for decades and now want to add a nylon string tonality
to their arsenal. Nylon string guitars after all, sound sooooo
good for interpreting not only legit classical repertoire but also Latin
and jazz flavored compositions. After years of gigging with
steel strung instruments, a true classical guitar neck can feel quite
ungainly though. Enter the new Model 5P CWX Crossover guitar from
Alhambra!
Alhambra have been crafting classical and
flamenco guitars in Muro de Alcoy Spain for over twenty years and have
refined both their craft and their signature sound to a very high level.
Last January we initiated & collaborated in the design of this new
" Crossover " style instrument that would feel a lot more friendly to non-classical
players. This new Model 5P CWX Crossover is essentially a true classical
guitar body but with an added Venetian cutaway, narrower 1 7/8" nut
width, radiused fingerboard and side dots!
The instrument pictured above is the very first
prototype. We will be getting more of these Crossover style guitars
soon with a variety of features that will include all solid wood construction
and added pickup/preamp options! |
