Bill Collings applies all of the varnish finishes on his mandolins personally. It takes a GREAT deal of skill, patience and a certain amount of maniacal dedication to apply an ultra thin coating of varnish to the complex curves of a mandolin but the sonic results are worth it!

This is the first MT2 varnish finish that I've seen or heard and it really is a cut above any (and I mean ANY) other A-style I've experienced!!! This one is loud & barky when you really lay into it but sweetens up as smooth as silk when you pull back a bit. What an absolute joy to play!!!!!!!!!!
