John Hartford Banjo

Deering Banjos : John Hartford model

This version of the 'John Hartford' is probably the most unique design in Deering's extensive line of handmade American banjos.  The light weight Granadillo wood tone ring combined with a 3-ply rim and one-piece zink flange not only creates a tone reminiscent of a vintage pre-war instrument,  but it improves dramatically as it is 'played in', similar to a violin!

This version of the Deering John Hartford can be heard on John's 'Down the River' as well as 'Hartford & Hartford' albums.
