Well NOW we're talking!!! Hard on the heels of introducing the El Rey and Thinline Series, Eastman has added this new design to their ground breaking original full-body archtop jazz guitars!

This new AR803-15 model features an extremely comfortable 15" body with a slim 2.75" deep side dimension, X-braced carved spruce top, bound ebony finger-rest, bound ebony fingerboard, carved flamed maple back and rich Classic Violin Brown gloss lacquer finish!

The combination of this compact body size and top-mounted Kent Armstrong pickup makes it effortless to achieve a wide palette of musical tones that are ... well, "jazz friendly"!!!

Eastman AR803 - 16 Jazz Guitar

I can see this exact model becoming the mainstay of the entire Eastman Jazz Guitar line. The AR803-16 is essentially the popular John Pisano Model with slightly different aesthetics ... for more than $800.00 less cost!!! I can live with that!

The AR803-16 differs from the original AR805CE in that it has a more traditional rounded shape to it's Venetian cutaway and sports a slightly shallower body dimension. This model is powered by a Kent Armstrong humbucker mounted right on the top and like the Pisano, the AR803-16 has ever-so-slightly less acoustic volume than a jazz guitar with suspended pickup, but more feedback rejection.

I am a HUGE fan of this Kent Armstrong designed humbucker. With it's 12 adjustable pole pieces you can get the perfect string-to-string balance no matter what gauge strings you use ... wound OR unwound G string, and the tone is thick but very clear. Why does Eastman keep sending me guitars to tempt me!!!
