The Johnson Octave mandolin features a solid spruce top,  20 1/8" scale length,  13 1/2" lower bout on a 2 13/16" deep body,  enclosed tuners,  intonation compensated saddle,  1 3/16" nut width,  multiple bound body,  adjustable truss rod and rosewood fingerboard.  The Octave mandolin is, of course,  tuned one octave below standard mandolin tuning (G/D/A/E).  The courses are often tuned in unison but the lower two courses can be tuned an octave apart. 

      The Johnson Celtic Bouzouki has similar features but with a longer 26 1/4" scale length.  The Celtic Bazouki is also often tuned an octave below normal mandolin or in Greek bouzouki tuning.
