| These new triple-0 Larrivees are
just a DELIGHT to play!!!!!!!!!! As much as they look like
a circa 1920's parlor guitar they still have that unmistakable Larrivee
sonic fingerprint; that super detail in the overtones; that
unbelievable balance and that crisp, explosive attack transient!
Add these tone attributes to the sweet midrange and powerful bass register
that is inherent in a 12-fret 'long body' parlor guitar and you have the
quintessential fingerstyle instrument.
After I got past my drooling over
the meticulously executed slotted peghead, ultra-clean dart volute,
herringbone marquetry and clean lines of the pyramid bridge,
I hung my inspection light in the soundhole and took a look around 'under
the hood'. As expected the craftsmanship is clean and flawless
even where you can't see it! Jean has employed his tried and true
symmetrical X-brace system with maple bridge plate to achieve yet another
colour on the Larrivee tone palette!
We are lucky to have secured one Larrivee
000-50 (mahogany back & sides) and one 000-60 (rosewood back &
sides) from the very first batch made, so if you're in our neck of
the woods, come in and check them out!
