| Jean Larrivee has been under pressure from
his dealers to create an instrument specifically targeted for fingerstyle
players. As usual, he has responded with a guitar that has
exceeded expectations! His new LSV-11 Fingerstyle debuted at the
2006 Winter NAMM show and immediately created a huge buzz in the industry!
Most serious fingerstyle players these days
demand a significantly wider nut dimension to facilitate the often challenging
passages in the lower registers of the fingerboard, hence a 1 13/16"
bone nut was designated for this model. Jean's LS body size
is absolutely perfect to achieve the balance, maximum note separation and
tonal complexity demanded by the contemporary fingerstyle repertoire.
The Larrivee symmetrical strutting system has been custom voiced for this
new model and seems to lend extra layers of sparkle to the overtone series
while maintaining a solid note fundamental with plenty of girth to support
all of that shimmer in the high end!
I have to say that the new L.R. Baggs I-Mix
System is definitely my favorite pickup/preamp ever on a Larrivee.
The combination of the Element saddle pickup's meaty tone & high feedback
rejection in combination with the I-beam's reproduction of high-end nuances
makes for very transparent sound reinforcement!!!
Did I mention that this thing was an absolute
dream to play? The short scale makes even close-voiced chords easy
to grip! There has obviously been some considerable thought given
to the ergonomics of this particular model ... it just sits on your lap
and falls into the perfect playing position! I LOVE THIS THING!!! |
