to find a source of high quality mandolins in the under $1000.00
dollar range for around 2 years. Our patience has finally paid
off with the arrival of our first shipment of Morgan Monroe F-style mandolins.
The first model
I would like to showcase is the all solid wood MMS-4 "Phantom" which features
a solid carved spruce top, solid carved sycamore back and sides,
maple neck with adjustable truss rod, aged cream body binding on
the top & back, bound rosewood fingerboard, flawless opaque
black gloss finish, 3-ply pickguard and gold plated hardware.
The
MMS-4 is a parallel braced F-style that has an impressive bark in the
lower midrange, good cutting trebles and more than enough power to
be heard in any jam situation. This is by far the best made and most
impressive sounding mandolin I've played in this price range. As
a matter of fact, this instrument compares quite favorably with much
higher priced instruments we have in stock! |
